Hair!!!!
I know I have not been faithful to this blog but I promise to try to make more of an effort.
Blogging is sometimes lost on me. Not because it is hard or even easy. Just because I feel I must release a thesis type essay before I post something.
To be honest, it is just random thoughts at the end of the day.
Just getting your "opinion" out there.
Anyway, back to the matter, my new creative venture is hair making. I have after 20 something odd years on earth decided that making hair is something I like.
I do not have many clients and I am not perfect at the art but I enjoy it and I value my clients for coming back.
I have done quite a few hairstyles in the past year or so, but I have officially hit on what might come to be my favorite hairstyle to make...... drumroll please.... crotchet braids.
Its potential to me is outstanding. I just finished doing it on my hair and I can't stop raving about it.
It took me awhile to adjust to gripping the latch hook and tying the hair off but I had fun over all. Will post some pictures here of the way it looks.
That's the closure up close. It isn't perfect but I like the look over all.
That's the back to show you the length of the hair.
I used 2 packs of expression hair. color one and color one/purple. I braided my hair all back. the common braiding pattern for crotchet braids. I then divided the 1st pack into 2(Silly move looking back now) and I divided the 2nd into 3 portions.
I started crotcheting from the back and worked my way the centre part. I used the 3 know tying method for the whole head except the part. I used the knotless method for the center part.
It took me about 6 plus hours in all. yeah that seems long. But I didn't do it at a stretch. Did it mostly over the weekend.
I discovered you get better and faster as you go along. So it went smoother as I progressed.
Will try to post more pictures as a sort of update and maintenance routine. Plus to see how long it lasts.
